Pennsylvania senior citizens can still get free assistance with applications for the Property Tax/Rent Rebate program, despite recent solicitations from companies offering to complete the necessary state forms for a fee. Rep. Mark Keller (R-Perry & Franklin) noted that many area seniors may have been confused by these offers, but there is still plenty of time to complete applications and help is available through his local offices at no charge. Castle Doctrine legislation that would strengthen the right of Pennsylvania citizens to use deadly force if necessary in self defense was approved Tuesday in the state House. Rep. Mark Keller (R-Perry & Franklin) said this bill makes clear that law abiding citizens have the right to protect themselves and their families without any legal duty to retreat from confrontations.
