Penn Township Municipal Authority Awarded Low-Interest Loan for Water Tanks, Treatment System
7/22/2020
HARRISBURG – The Pennsylvania Infrastructure Investment Authority (PENNVEST) has awarded a low-interest loan to Penn Township Municipal Authority for new water tanks and a replacement system that will oxidize and filter water, according to Rep. Mark Keller (R-Perry/Cumberland).

The PENNVEST board today approved a $1.45 million loan at a 1% interest rate for 20 years.

“This project is important to ensure Penn Township Municipal Authority’s customers are well served with clean water today and in the future. It will replace the existing storage tanks with a 150,000-gallon steel tank, and plans for the new system indicate it will reduce iron and manganese in the water,” Keller said.

Formed in 1988, PENNVEST provides low-interest loans for design, engineering and construction of publicly and privately owned drinking water distribution and treatment facilities, as well as storm water and wastewater projects.
