NEW BLOOMFIELD – In his continuing effort to keep older residents informed about programs and services in the area that can improve the quality of their lives, Rep. Mark Keller (R-Perry/Cumberland) is hosting a Senior Expo in Newport, Perry County. The free event will take place on Friday, Sept. 29, from 1-4 p.m. at the Newport Family Life Center, 27 W. Shortcut Road.
Keller’s expo will feature dozens of exhibitors from non-profit agencies, local businesses and health care organizations.
“Our expo is always one of my favorite events of the year because I get to visit with so many of our seniors,” said Keller. “We bring a variety of businesses and organizations together under one roof, making it more convenient to learn about what they can offer older residents. My staff and I are also happy to discuss any state-related issue or concern with them.”
Flu shots will be available to those with accepted insurance. There will be a charge of $20 for the flu shot for those without coverage.
The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs’ Mobile Veterans Center will be stationed in the parking lot to provide free services to veterans and their family members.
In addition, door prizes and refreshments will be offered.
Attendees are asked to please register for the expo by calling Keller’s New Bloomfield office at (717) 582-8119.
